Where do your book shelves end and your wardrobe begin? With book style, I take the colors, textures, and mood of book covers and transform them into outfits. Sometimes, I take elements from the story itself. Sometimes, I will come up with outfits that I will never dare wear (the ones with shoe heels that reach the sky, mostly). And perhaps, one day, we will find a way to make style resonate as loudly as the written word.

Incantation by Alice Hoffman.

Another outfit that I will never have the guts (read: heel-wearing powers) to wear. For some girls, learning to walk in heels is a huge coming-of-age milestone. In my case, coming of age did not involve shoe-wearing training.

But it’s nice to think of outfit elements that you wish you know how to rock, right? Aside from the heels, the blazer I added here is a shade of pink that will not do wonders for my skin tone. But it looks positively delicious with the gray and I had to include it. The skinny jeans, too, are most likely the type that are perfect on the waist but ridiculously thin on the legs (seriously, how come manufacturers of jeans never get real women sizes right?).  I will also never buy a bag in a light color because it will get dirty within one week. In other words, the necklace is the only piece here that I can wear.

Man, oh, man, if I were taller and not scared of heels and just a tad paler…

Some of you are, though, so give this outfit a chance, will you?
