Today’s faux-outfit post is brought to you by tropical cyclone Juaning.
The winds and rain are battling it out outside my windows. The romantic in me is imagining myself out on the streets, on some mission, hoping to find respite from the cold. The winds are blowing my hair against my face, tiny raindrops are claiming every space on my glasses their property. Cars are whizzing by, their headlights rendering me blind for a second or two as I step into a puddle and look out for a friendlier sidewalk.
“Where can I buy cat food at this ungodly hour?” I wonder aloud, but the thunder drowns out my question.
I don’t know how that story ends but I imagine myself wearing this:

CRAFTED: scalloped hem skirt* / THRIFTED: top / GIFTED: skeleton keys necklace
I apologize. My father did say more than once when I was little that I have an overactive imagination. For realz yo. He caught me several times “having a conversation with a suspicious character” (i.e. talking to myself).
In reality, running errands call for far simpler items of clothing. See below (worn to buy cat food a few days ago, actually). And they are accomplished in friendlier weather, too.

CRAFTED: lace-embellished top / THRIFTED: tsumori chisato skirt, sling bag
*Will post a tutorial for the skirt next month.

I love both outfits. The first skirt’s scalloped edge is so great and the black tights really highlight that detail. The second one is so pretty! I really like the gladiators with the skirt length, it looks so relaxed, but put together at the same time. I remember dreaming away like that during hurricane season in Florida when I was growing up…I felt so safe inside away from the rain and winds, but I loved imagining all sorts of scenarios too.
