tutorial: fabric poppies wall art

Remember the DIY fabric poppies I made for my Christmas tree a few years ago? I always thought I could do a lot more of fun crafty projects using said DIY flowers. And so I came up with this:

For “gardening” instructions, please refer to my ROSETTE CHRISTMAS TREE TUTE.

1. The canvas I used is small. I feel that this DIY fabric flower piece will create more impact if you choose a bigger base.

2. Instead of threading a bead to the center of your rosette, you can use pins pinned directly to your canvas. I think gold thumbtacks will look great with the white fabric.

3. Yes, I am aware that these poppies look like crazy eyes.

  1. So pretty! My neighbors have beautiful orange/red poppies in their front yard…you may have inspired some living room art for me…

Can you believe I’ve never seen them in person? :)
