There are not that many artsy adventures that the boyfriend and I do together. I have tried drawing several times but self-doubt always hits me after a few tries. He is supportive when it comes to my drawing “mishaps” but I am simply humbled to the point of immobile resignation in the presence of his Skills. Yes, first letter is capitalized. And so I draw only WHEN I REALLY NEED TO.
And while he knows all parts of a sewing machine, he will never derive joy from sewing the same way I do. I reckon he also feels the same way about my miniature projects even though he is fascinated by all the mini rooms/houses I’ve made.
But two weeks ago, we discovered polymer clay. Rather, we learned that there is a seller of Polymer clay materials in the city. Our afternoons are now spent sculpting and baking.

From our first tries, I managed to sculpt this chibi-Totoro piece and the emo black roses below:

He made a Vader bust and this zombie black metal hand:

Oooh. Those lovely black roses belong in one of the miniature rooms that is about to happen. (Yes, I meant to write that in future tense.) Mad props to your boyfriend for the textures on the zombie hand, too!
