- His and Hers tortoiseshell glasses
- The big ones belong to the boyfriend. They are vintage frames that I bought from this Japanese thrift store in the city. I bought them for me but my face turned out to be too tiny for such large frames. When you’re in your late ’20s, wearing ill-fitting things is not acceptable.
- For more than a year, I did not let my boyfriend forget that he pretty much “stole” the frames I liked. He finally caved in and bought me a new pair a month ago. Ha!

- An old photo of Chino. He looks like he has a triangle head here but he is an applehead Siamese variety.

- The teapots near the wall used to stand on stacked books. I replaced them with covered boxes because I needed to display the books elsewhere to complete the flat’s kitschy cafe/bookshop look. I could have bought new books but having a Kindle means lesser purchases of actual books.
- Please don’t think that I’m an annoying hipster for using books as decor. I assure you, I read. Even shallow and popular fiction. Not that 50 Shades series, though. I could not get past the first chapter of the first book of the series.

- I Googled my name one day (don’t judge!) and saw this. This rosette bib necklace was something I made for Sew It All a couple of years ago.

- And so the lowbrow art movement in Cebu gains momentum.
- Meet Hannah Bacalla. She is a photographer. She is ridiculously talented.

I want a cat but my sister’s dog will kill it in a split second of meeting :( That is one cool bib necklace! :)

“When you’re in your late ’20s, wearing ill-fitting things is not acceptable.”
I also realized this when I tried to wear a really cropped top that bared my navel. :D

I love the necklace you made. It’s really pretty.

I swear I will throw up the next time I read a tweet or post or whatever exclaiming how *great* 50 Shades of Grey is. High-five sister, high-five.
Aug 06, 2012 @ 14:59:53
Gah look at those teapots! You have such a lovely home. : ] I’m with you about the 50 shades. I just can’t believe it’s STILL on the bestseller list on Amazon. *shakes head*
Aug 10, 2012 @ 13:10:10
Thank you!
And I’m shaking my head with ya :D

I would have chosen the big glasses for me too Meream! If I’m fortunate to see one, hope it’s not il-fitted! Love!!! :)
Tried googling my name too before! The results are a reflection of just how unsure I was about what I want to be before. Haha. Tennis player. Reporter. Etc. Etc. Crazy!
Aug 10, 2012 @ 13:10:37
Do you know what this means, right? This means that you’re a regular Renaissance woman :)
Aug 06, 2012 @ 19:47:42
the 50 shades comment was so funny. those books were AWFUL and i’m so embarassed to say that i read them!
Aug 10, 2012 @ 13:10:55
you deserve a medal for finishing them!
Aug 06, 2012 @ 20:36:29
You know, when I saw the title big girl toys I expected at the very least a Hitachi ‘neck massager’. I mean seriously woman! The pretty pictures have mollified me. Somewhat. XD
Aug 10, 2012 @ 13:11:13
Hahahaha! Sorry! ;)

You said that your face was too small to wear the boyfriend’s glasses . . . . I have to get children’s glasses because adult ones are too big for my face. LOL I tell everyone that I am a pin head. I have to get children’s hats also. The adult ones are just way too big for me. =( I love the glasses, though. When I got my first pair, umm 45 years ago, they were the same shape, but black. Back then you could get black or white. That was about all the choices you had.
Aug 10, 2012 @ 13:11:40
Same here!

His and hers glasses… too much, too much! I love it! I’ve been wanting some oversized glasses myself, but have to agree that finding the perfect pair to fit my face is tricky. I want to look nerdy-chic, not plain old nerdy..lol!
At least your boyfriend can wear them (and you were able to get him to get you a new pair too! Win-Win!) Hope you had a fun and crafty weekend! :)
Aug 10, 2012 @ 13:12:12
Haha! This was always my goal, too, but I think I have failed. Oh well.
Aug 07, 2012 @ 18:45:52
Those glasses are so pretty. Maybe I could also get a pair for my boyfriend and me. Can you tell me where you got them? :3
Aug 10, 2012 @ 13:12:40
I got mine from Sight Haven. :)
Aug 11, 2012 @ 23:32:52
Where can I find this Japanese thrift store? I want to go there! XD

Cute cat! I’m just wondering if you vacuum (especially the sofa) a lot during shedding season, coz my cat sheds a lot and it drives me nuts since I recently discovered from the doctor that I’m allergic to cats. :(
Aug 18, 2012 @ 10:38:41
Oh no hope you get a resolution regarding this shedding situation. :) We actually have an old hand-held one but we hardly use it. We have stone floors, no carpeting whatsoever so we don’t have fur issues, really :)
