No, I am not inventing words. At least, not today. The title of this post stands for What Would Tiffany Aching Wear?

Who is Tiffany Aching? She is a witch, a very powerful one, from The Discworld. She is the witch of the Nac Mac Feegle and the Chalk. Even though she is young (almost sixteen, in I Shall Wear Midnight), she has fought very powerful forces and done things that can make the knees of adult witches buckle. Far be it for me to speak out of turn, methinks Tiffany could very well be more powerful than Granny Weatherwax, the resident bad*ss witch of The Discworld.

Aside from learning headology and mind-blowing tricks of the trade at an early age, Tiffany is different from your average witch because she refuses to wear black. “When I’m old I shall wear midnight, she’d decided. But for now she’d had enough of darkness” (from A Hat Full of Sky).

And so I wondered: What Would Tiffany Aching Wear, if she were a “witch” of this world?

Sensible boots, minimal (or non-obtrusive) black, an umbrella full of sky instead of a hat, blues and greens because she’s still only almost-sixteen, a broom ring, and of course, a hare necklace from her boy. A look that says young but smart. A look that says “I can” and everything else that those two words imply.

COVET: Broom ring | Rabbit necklace | Sky umbrella
